Treasured Moments

A little boys first drawing of people.

Something I will treasure forever.

When the world feels like it's collapsing on my shoulders and I struggle to take a breath, all I have to do is look at my three beautiful boys who make everything okay.

Beautiful Sunday

It seems to have become a tradition that every Sunday we go for a drive and explore places we have never been.  A special someones birthday meant that I filled my new basket with chocolate, dips, crackers, cake and a nice bottle of wine.  We found a nice rainforest area with tables and chairs and a grassed area where I layed the rug.  The kids happily played and chased the bush turkeys, stopping occassionally for a bite to eat.  We stayed for as long as we could handle the chill of the rainforest breeze. Such a beautiful afternoon.  Happy 29th birthday Nick, I love you xx

The Gold Coast just wasn't itself today.  Rather than the usual warmth of the winter sun beating through the verticals, it was dark, miserable and cold.  A perfect day to sleep in and stay warm, read a book, have a long bath, and watch a movie, IF I didn't have little people that needed me.  Instead I visited a friend and left a bigger version of myself after consuming alot of her delicious choc chip cookies.  I spent some of the afternoon sewing and finishing projects.  I finished a quilt, and made an old dress into a skirt and continued 'trying' to crotchet.  At the moment i'm starting to crotchet a scarf, but by the time I finish it, the Gold Coast will be back to its summery self.  I'll keep trying.

Op Shop finds

After catching up with friends, one of which is moving house and sorting, I felt the urge to do some organising of my own. This feeling reminded me of when I was in the last weeks of pregnancy. I managed to clear out four bags worth of items that just never get used from the kitchen cupboards. This meant I 'had' to take these bags to the local op shop so I could feel like I had achieved something. One would think that because I had done this, I couldn't possibly want or need to look for anything in the shop while there. But of course I went on closing time and thought I couldn't possibly find anything that I would like in five minutes surely? With my son on my hip, I had a quick look around and there it was, staring at me, saying buy me, buy me. It wanted a new home and I placed it over my arm, paid for it ($2.50) and quickly left before finding anything else to reclutter my house with. It will be used to take to the park for all the essential items for the children.

Thank you to Jane and Christina for inspiring my love of baskets

The Strawberry Farm

You can't pick strawberries nor does it have many animals.  So it doesn't really suit its name nevertheless, but it's a nice little place and the children absolutely love it.  The strawberry farm is a sweet place alongside the highway where there is a constant flow of visitors trying out the icecream.  There are a few goats, one fiesty chicken and guinea pigs, some of which have free range of the yard.  The children love feeding the animals, but most of all knowing that when the food runs out we head straight over to the icecream counter.  We haven't visited the Strawberry Farm in a little while, but whenever we do it's such well spent quality family time.
